Shiratori Ryusuhi moves to Tokyo to study at an art school. He moves into a place called: Narutakisou Apartment. The landlady is a young girl named Aoba Kozue. She told Shiratori that they have met ten years ago, but he doesn’t remember it. She didn’t mind though and showed him to his room (apartment #2). Kozue noticed Shiratori’s sketchbook. Shiratori told her it’s has always been his dream to become a children’s book author. Kozue was glad Shiratori’s dream hasn’t changed. She had other things to take care of and left the room. Meanwhile Shiratori’s arrival isn’t unnoticed. The other tenants are curious what kind of person Shiratori is and decided to spy on him. One of the tenants introduced herself to Shiratori. Her name is Momono Megumi. She is twenty years old and the resident of apartment #3. She asked Shiratori if he knew about Kozue secret. Seeing Shiratori doesn’t have a clue what she was talking about it, she just warned him not to shock or surprise Kozue. Shiratori thought Kozue must have a heart disease and therefore can’t handle surprises and shocks very well. Then Kozue appeared before him again and asked him if he wanted some snacks. He gladly accepted her offer, so she went to the kitchen to prepare some snacks. When she brought the snacks to Shiratori’s room she trip and fell on top of Shiratori. Then something strange happened. Kozue eyes turned red and she became another person. She became rude and didn’t recognize Shiratori anymore.
I must say that the first episode wasn’t very impressive. The artwork is so-so, the music is mediocre and the plot resembles Love Hina (minus the ecchi-ness). The main characters Shiratori and Kozue are pretty dull. The tenants on the other hand are quite interesting. There is Momo-chan who seems to be drunk most of the time, Asami and her weird mom, a strange girl called Tamami and a guy with a (dog)puppet. The violent and rude side of Kozue should be interesting (and funny). Btw, is it just me or does Kozue look younger than he really is? He is 18, but he looks like a 14-year old.
