Kantarou is invited to a mansion to do some youkai busting. The mansion is being harassed by youkai, but Kantarou can’t find the cause of it. In order to earn some extra money Kantarou tricked Haruka and Youko-chan to do some chores in the mansion. The mansion’s owner, Miss Sakurazawa, seems to be interested in Haruka. Then Youko-chan discovered a storage shed and wanted to do some cleaning there as well. After she found a way to enter the storage shed she discovered a room filled with purple roses. When she wanted to touch them, the roses came to life and attacked Youko-chan. Meanwhile Haruka was called to Sakurazawa’s room. After he entered the room Sakurazawa captured him with her roses. The pollen of the roses can take away the abilities of strong youkai. Haruka knows that the woman who captured him is not human, she is an oni. Youko-chan was brought to the room as well. She wanted to call for Kantarou, but the fake Sakurazawa told her it’s useless because Kantarou is fighting the strongest youkai he has ever met. The woman ordered her henchmen to torture Haruka. Then Kantarou suddenly barged into the room with a three-headed snake/ youkai. Kantarou has become friends with the youkai therefore the youkai won’t listen to the woman anymore. Kantarou asked her who she is, she answered her name is Ibaragi. Before Kantarou could ask more questions, a soldier appeared before them. He vanquished the youkai and disappeared with Ibaragi. Kantarou and Haruka wonder what Ibaragi and the soldier's true motives are. They didn’t think they would them again so soon.
An officer went to visit Kantarou, because he needed his help to investigate a case. A while ago some of his soldiers discovered the whereabouts of Unebi, a ship that has disappeared a few years ago. After that the soldiers mysteriously disappeared. According to a few survivors a Tengu attacked them. Kantarou and Haruka went to investigate Unebi. Suzu-chan and Youko-chan followed them. Kantarou discovered there was something strange about the captain, Watanabe. He followed him and saw him talking to no one other then Ibaragi. They discovered Kantarou was eavesdropping them and captured him. Meanwhile Haruka noticed something strange was happening. He went to Unebi and saw that the so-called Tengu has appeared. The Tengu summoned some mud monsters to attack Haruka, but Haruka easily defeated them and the fake Tengu. Then Watanabe appeared and used canons to attack Haruka. At first Haruka was no match for him and was about to be defeated, but then Kantarou appeared and saved Haruka. Kantarou however got severely wounded. Haruka was enraged and managed to destroy Watanabe’s canons. Haruka and Watanabe started to fight and it seems Watanabe was taking the upper hand. Watanabe wanted to kill Haruka, but was stopped by Minamoto Raikou (his master). He ordered Watanabe to release Haruka, after that they disappeared again.
Tactics is getting better by the episode. Minamoto Raikou is an interesting character. What are his true motives and why does he hate Haruka so much? It’s revealed that it has something to do with his ancestors, but what exactly is still unknown.
In episode 13 we get to see how much Kantarou really cares for Haruka. He is even willing to die for him. Haruka cares for Kantarou as well, but he would never admit it.
