Rusyana has to be unarmed before she can enter the palace. Meanwhile Yajirou found a way to enter the palace, but he got lost due to the many tunnels. He accidentally found the chamber where the real Tenshi-sama was being held prison. Tenshi-sama told Yajirou the Jester appeared three years ago. He wanted to convince Tenshi-sama of his ideals, but she refused. Therefore he sent someone else to replace her. Rusyana found out about this as well. When she met the fake Tenshi-sama she noticed something strange about her. The fake Tenshi-sama tore off a branch, something the real Tenshi-sama would never do. The fake Tenshi-sama is actually Oomidou Setsuna. Setsuna called for her guards to capture Rusyana. Although Rusyana was unarmed she still managed to dodge the attacks of the guards, but then she was distracted by a peach tree that fell. Fortunately Teppa appeared in time and saved Rusyana. Then Mikan and Touka appeared to help Rusyana as well. Rusyana asked the Jester where the real Tenshi-sama was, he answered she was already dead. Yajirou proved him wrong by showing up with the real Tenshi-sama. Yajirou didn’t notice that Kasumo has been following them. She pointed her gun at Tenshi-sama and told Yajirou to step back. The Jester, Setsuna and Kasumi took the real Tenshi-sama and ran away. Yajirou and Rusyana followed them, while Touka and Mikan took care of the guards. Mikan has been inspired by Rusyana’s ideals and dealt with the guards without using any violence.
Meanwhile Yajirou and Rusyana followed the Jester to a tower. Yajirou told Rusyana to go and save Tenshi-sama while he would fight the Jester. Rusyana finally caught up with Setsuna who was still pretending to be Tenshi-sama. Setsuna asked Rusyana why she knew she wasn’t the real Tenshi-sama. Rusyana answered that her breasts are bigger than Tenshi-sama’s, because she was hiding a gun between them. It turns out Setsuna and Rusyana were chosen to be Tenshi-sama’s doubles. They both followed the exact same training. Setsuna and Rusyana began to fight. At first they were equally matched, but then Rusyana took the upper hand. She however couldn’t kill Setsuna. Yajirou has won the fight against the Jester as well, but he noticed that the Jester didn’t want to give up yet. Then he remembers what Rusyana taught him and decided to embrace the Jester. Rusyana decided to do the same with Setsuna. In the end the Jester and Setsuna realised they both lost and everything returned back to normal in the capital. Tenshi-sama gave Rusyana the title of Grenadier ~The Smiling Senshi~. Rusyana, Yajirou and Mikan continue their journey to spread the ideals of Tenshi-sama.
A great way to end this series. The gunfight between Rusyana and Setsuna was done very nicely and Yajirou finally gets to fight as well. I was pleasantly surprised that Touka made an appearance, I really like her character. I actually wanted to see Rusyana fight the remaining Heavenly Enlightened, because she has only defeated four out of the Ten Heavenly Enlightened. I guess it’s something I can only hope for. I was also a bit disappointed that Teppa didn’t join Rusyana on her journey. Teppa and Kasumi make a weird (but also) couple. Grenadier is a pretty good series. The fighting scenes are done nicely and the characters are likable. Don’t watch this series if you’re looking for an anime with a good plot.
