Haru and Yurika got married (for a moment there I thought it was Ryo and Shizuka who were getting married) and Shizuka moved to Haru’s old apartment to become Ryo and Akane’s neighbor. Then Ojo and Miki invite them to go to a new shopping mall. It was actually Ojo’s brother who invited Ryo and Akane, because he wants Ryo and Ojo to be the models for his commercial for the new wedding hall. The theme of the commercial is: Steal the Love. Shizuka opposes to the idea and suggested a “Pick the bride contest”. Shizuka, Akane, Ojo and Miki are the contestants who would compete against each other in five categories: swimsuit contest, cooking contest, cuteness appeal, sweet voice contest, love making contest (this one was scraped). In the end no one actually won and all four of them got to wear a wedding dress. Poor Ryo has to deal with four girls at the same time.
I’m getting pretty good at guessing. This was indeed a filler episode and a pretty enjoyable one too. I can’t believe Shizuka actually sent here father to the South Pole. It’s a shame this episode was a bit rushed, because I really wanted to see them compete each other. If it was a “real” contest, I think Shizuka would have won.
This episode is the last episode of Final Approach. In general Final Approach is a pretty enjoyable anime. It has funny moments, but also a few sad ones. If you like romantic comedies, then Final Approach isn’t bad. At least I enjoyed watching it!
