Kantarou orders Youko-chan around and Haruka is not pleased with the way Kantarou is doing this. Before they can really argue someone interrupts them. That someone is a butler of a mansion. He wants Kantarou to look for his miss, who has been missing for a few days. If Kantarou succeeds his master will reward him with ten times the usually payment. Of course Kantarou immediately accepts this assignment. Kantarou and Haruka went to the forest to ask some of Kantarou’s demon friends if they have seen that girl. Muu-chan suddenly appears and tells Kantarou she has seen that girl before, at some marketplace. Kantarou and Haruka went to this marketplace to look for clues, but instead of clues they bought a whole bunch of worthless junk. Youko-chan was angered and quite disappointed, because Kantarou spent all the money she earned with writing manuscripts. The next day they went to the marketplace again. Kantarou had Youko-chan and Haruka dressed up to sell goods to earn money. However Kantarou wasn’t pleased with their performances and insulted them, especially Haruka. Kantarou thought of another idea to make money. He decided to sell goods by himself, which included Haruka’s precious teacup. Haruka was pissed and flew away.
Then Kantarou sensed that a demon is nearby, he approaches a man who sells candy and wanted to catch him. Unfortunately three spiders protected him. Back home, Kantarou discovered that this whole matter has something to do with a legendary spider called Mountain Loneliness. With some help of Youko-chan, he discovers where the hiding place of that candy man is. Kantarou decides to go that place on his own, because he believes in Haruka. Haruka, who was sitting at the roof, heard Kantarou’s words and began to wonder. In the end Haruka went to find Kantarou who was at the candy man’s hiding place. Together they defeated the man and the giant spider that appeared. According to Kantarou, that spider was once the protector of his own tribe. The spider was killed and the person who did this took the spider’s power to do evil things.
Kantarou and Haruka became friends again. It turns out that Kantarou acted mean, because he wanted to test Haruka’s loyalty.
Now this episode is more like it! The writers finally stopped focussing on demons and focussed on Kantarou and Haruka’s relationship. Although it was a bit weird to see how Kantarou actually doubted Haruka. In the end it sort of looked like Kantarou really thinks of himself as Haruka’s master. Anyway I hope the next episodes will be as enjoyable as this one. If it keeps up like this, Tactics is a keeper.
