People have been complaining about a ghost train that has appeared lately. Kantarou has been asked to investigate and solve this case. He wonders if this ghost train has something to do with the train accident that happened a year and a half ago. At that accident only the driver died.
Meanwhile Suzu went to buy some confeito and saw a strange girl who is apparently waiting for someone. She didn't pay much attention to her, because she wanted to go look for Haruka and share her candy with him.
Kantarou discovered that the ghost train follows a certain pattern: it appears every night at 9:07 pm and drives by every train station in the city. Kantarou and Haruka went to the next station to wait for the train to appear. As expected it appeared at 9:07 pm. Kantarou and Haruka succeeded in stopping the train, but then it suddenly disappeared. The next day they went to look for the "real" train. It appeared that the ghost train is actually the train that was involved in the accident. It is possessed by the driver of the train, because he is looking for his daughter.
Suzu went to buy some more confeito. Outside the shop she met the strange girl again. Suzu gave her some candy and introduced herself. The girl's name is Nene and she was waiting for her father.
That night Haruka and Kantarou waited for the ghost train to appear. This time they managed to stop the train and bring out the soul of the driver. Kantarou told the driver to move on and not to look for his daughter anymore, because it would take away the little hope she still has. The driver was about to move on, but then Suzu suddenly appeared and so did Nene. She was happy to see her father again. Apparently Nene is a ghost as well, because in the end she left with her father.
I am not sure what to think of this episode. It was boring, but also a bit touching. A father who possessed a train just so he can see his daughter again. What I don’t understand is why Nene and her father were separated. I thought they died together at the train accident. Furthermore it’s still a mystery to me why the ghost train waited a year and a half to appear.
Haruka and Kantarou are still a great team. Although their relationship tends to get a bit yaoi (holding hands??). Muu-chan and Sugino made a small appearance at the beginning of this episode. Sugino looked great in “normal” clothes, but why did he braided his hair -- > he looked like a girl!
