A populair ghost exorcizing show is coming to Karakura to broadcast live. Everyone is excited about it except for Ichigo, because he doesn't like ghost shows. He still went to see the broadcast, because his little sister and his dad are huge fans of the show. The hero of the show, Don Kan'onji, plans to exorcise ghosts from a abandoned hospital. Ichigo says to Rukia that there couldn't be any ghosts in the hospital otherwise Soul Society would have send a Death God to vanquish them. Rukia answers that there won't be Hollows in the hospital, but there could be earth-bound ghosts. Because these ghosts are earth-bound they won't show up on Soul Society's sensors. Ichigo and Rukia saw a earth-bound ghost appear in front of the hospital. According to Rukia earth-bound ghosts with a strong attachment to this world degrades into a Hollow if they are being neglected. This eart-bound ghost is not a threat yet, because it will take at least six months before he transforms into a Hollow. A Hollow can be recognised by a white mask and a hole in his chest, where his heart used to be.
Don Kan'onji starts exorcizing the ghost and did something very foolish. He used a stick to enlarge the chest-hole of the ghost and therefore accelerated his transformation into a Hollow. Ichigo and Rukia tried to stop him, but were held back by Kan'onji's bodyguards. With a little help of Urahara, Ichigo transferred into a Death God and now has to fight the ghost that has become a Hollow. Don Kan'onji keeps interfering, because he can't let his viewers down especially the small children who adores him. In the end Ichigo defeated the Hollow and made Don Kan'onji realize that what he had been doing is wrong. He has turned many earth-bound ghosts into Hollows.
This was such a hilarious episode. I like the whole "Bwahahahaha" thing and Rukia's expressions and crappy drawings are priceless. She seems to be proud of them. I kinda missed those drawings in the previous episodes, but I guess they weren't needed. This episode was actually quite unexpected. While Ichigo was deadly serious in the previous episode, in this episode he was relaxed and funny. Don Kan'onji was annoying at first, but later on he became quite likeable. When the Hollow hit him, Kan'onji sparkled which almost looked like he enjoyed it. The manga readers among us would probably hate this episode, because the anime differs from the manga too much. I haven't read the manga so I can't comment on that, all I can say is that I still enjoy watching Bleach very much!
