Kawachi wonders why the southern Pantasia store has only a few customers per day in contrast to the main store. Ken, the manager, answers it’s because their biggest competitor, St. Pierre, has built their main Tokyo store across the street. Their manager is called Mokoyama Tsuyoshi. He is a real artisan and is specialised in making sweetened buns. He saw Kazuma’s Japan #57 and makes fun of it. Ken answers that Kazuma has more talent than Mokoyama has. Mokoyama isn’t convinced and challenged Ken. He wanted to compare St. Pierre’s new bread with Pantasia's new bread on national television. Mokoyama planned to humiliate them on television. Ken declined his offer, because it’s not interesting enough. Ken suggested a bread competition between Mokoyama and Kazuma. Mokoyama accepted it, because he thinks it’s a sure win.
The next day Kuroyanagi and Meister Kirisaki of Pantasia main store visited the southern store. They have heard about the competition and decided to take measures against it, because Ken never asked for permission. Meister Kirisaki however recognised Kazuma talents and decided to let them compete against St. Pierre.
The competition is held at the studio of TV Tokyo. Ken, Kawachi and Tsukino went to watch the competition. According to Ken, Kazuma could lose because his creation, Japan #57, has one fatal flaw.
Noooooooo, it’s not fair! Why does this episode have to end so quickly? I want to watch the competition, I want to know what the fatal flaw is………..oh sorry I got carried away.
Anyway, quite a nice episode. Mokoyama is annoying though. His expressions are too exaggerated. He is unmanly, tends to like Ken a lot (he calls him Ken-chan and simply adores everything he does), wears onion perfume, enjoys to wear ridiculous outfits and likes to have manicures and pedicures. Also has to have a nice looking man to do his hair. I’m glad I’m not one of his subordinates.
