Fansubbed by: Shining Fansubs This episode was mainly focused on Lui. We get to see the cruel and ruthless side of Lui, which made me believe he really is such a nasty person. On the other hand sometimes it looked like Lui had no choice, like he was doing this for his family. Anyway I'm glad that in the end Lui have decided to cancel his engagement, which proved Lui isn't such a ruthless person after all. He couldn't sacrifice everything he had to achieve his goal. Lui preserved his dignity and gained my respect.

Lui tells Naoji and Camus that he is engaged to Charlene Hartvich, the daughter of Baron Hartvich. Camus and Naoji know that Lui doesn't like her. He barely knows her. Lui's father chose her for him and Lui accepted it, because he can use her to achieve his goals. Orphe disapproves Lui's methods, because he thinks Lui will do anything to achieve his goals. Orphe cares about Lui very much, although he would never admit this. Meanwhile another Baron and Beruze are planning an assault on Lui and his financé. They are afraid that their marriage will disturb the political balance. On the engagement party they planned a bomb to kill Lui and his fiancé. Fortunately Orphe and Camus felt something was wrong and prevented the assault. It turns out that Lui knew all along that someone would plan a assault on him, so he sort of used Charlene to lure him out. The next day Isaac reads in the newspaper that the culprit behind the assault committed suicide. Lui also tells Orphe and the others that he cancelled his engagement with Charlene Hartvich.
