Fansubbed by: Shining Fansubs This episode was better than the previous one. It was mainly focused on Eduard, but I don’t mind. Eduard is a likeable character. He cares for his sister a lot and is determined in finding her. This episode proved once again how much Orpherus cares about Eduard and vice versa. Oh, and I like the “nice” side of Ludwig. Although he says harsh things about Eduard (and Orpherus) he did help them when Beruze and the principal wanted to check the rooms for missing students (he looked great in his purple pyjamas). Btw, I’m starting to dislike Beruze. He is pure evil and seems to get a kick from expelling students from the academy. He is also the one who came up with the trap to lure Eduard.

This episode focuses mainly on Eduard. Eduard is playing the piano and thinks of how his stepmother, the Countess, hates him because she does not acknowledge him as the rightful heir of the title Viscount of Braunschweig. The countess is the only person in his family who hates him. His stepsisters and his father love him. The Countess however forbids her daughters to relate to Eduard and she also intercepts the letters he sent home. When Eduard was done playing the piano, he and Orpherus went to the town to pick up a book Orpherus ordered. On their way to the book store a girl suddenly ran into them. Some thugs were chasing her. Eduard, Orpherus and a stranger save the girl from these thugs. The girl’s name is Elaine, she is adopted when she was little. Her foster parents owe those thugs money, that’s why they chased her.
Back at the academy Eduard tells Orpherus that Elaine looks a lot like his little sister. Eduard was separated from his sister, because the Countess doesn’t like her. Eduard’s father didn’t want the Countess to hurt Eduard’s sister and put her up for adoption.
Eduard went to see Elaine again and went on a “date” with her. During the date Elaine slipped a note into Eduard’s pocket. When Eduard went back to his dormitory he saw the note. Elaine wrote she wants to leave this place and asks Eduard if he will come with her. Orpherus noticed Eduard wasn’t in his room he went looking out to look for him. Naoji tells Orpherus he will stay back and take care of things for him. Eduard is lured into a trap. The thugs and Elaine were sent by the Countess to eliminate him. Meanwhile Orpherus got help from the stranger and found Eduard. Eduard and Orpherus teamed up and defeated the thugs. Eduard tells Elaine he’s not mad at her, because he enjoyed his time with her.
