Youko-chan’s neighbor gave Youko-chan a taiyaki as a reward for her hard-working. She put the taiyaki in a closet to eat it after her chores. Unfortunately Kantarou and Haruka were hungry and ate the taiyaki. When Youko-chan found out about this she ran away from home. She went to the mountain to look for Sugino and Muu-chan. They agreed to let Youko-chan stay with them, but Youko-chan couldn’t stand Muu-chan eating habits (she likes to eat bugs) and left. She went to Suzu’s place, but quickly got bored after two days. Youko-chan disappeared again and started to work at a tea store called the Birk Hall. A suspicious looking man was interested in Youko-chan and wanted her to work for him. He offered her more wages than she was earning right now so she agreed to work for him. The man told Youko-chan that he is the owner of an exhibition store, while in fact he captures youkai to let them perform for an audience. Kantarou, Haruka and Suzu-chan followed Youko-chan to the exhibition store. They saw how that man tortured the youkai. When it was Youko-chan’s turn to perform, Kantarou saved her. Haruka was about to punish the man, but then he suddenly transformed into a raccoon. Apparently the man just wanted others to acknowledge his power, that’s why he captured youkai. Kantarou shaved the raccoon’s head as a reminder if he ever wanted to do something bad again.
On their way home, Kantarou and Haruka apologized to Youko-chan. The next day Youko-chan went back to the Birk Hall to work.
This was a filler episode, but nonetheless enjoyable. Kantarou is so insensitive at times. He doesn’t know when he has crossed the line. He is lucky Youko-chan can tolerate his behavior most of the time. Haruka is cool as always, but it is obvious he cares for Youko-chan as well.
By the way, when Kantarou asked the man if he saw Youko-chan, he made funny expressions and poses.
