I like this episode. In this episode Kazuma and thirty-four other examinees have to make bread within three hours. Kazuma plans to make Japan #56. There are three steps in making bread:
- Fermentation
- Dough shaping
- Baking
During the fermentation Kazuma's dough was sabotaged by examinee 34: Kawachi Kyousuke. He did this because he feels Kazuma is a threat to him with his "Solar Hands". Seeing there is little time left, Kazuma has to change his plans. He decides to make Japan #16, which is bread in the shape of Mount Fuji. When it was time for the jury to grade the breads, he gave almost everyone a point deduction (BTW, he is one scary jury). Kazuma was the only one who got a positive grade (plus two). The jury was impressed with the taste of Kazuma's bread. It tasted like Indian bread, while Kazuma insisted it was Japan bread. He came up with Japan #16, because of his love for "Japanese" curry. Off course we al know curry is Indian food, but Kazuma is rather stupid. He knows nothing of bread; he only knows how to make Japan.
In the end only four examinees past the first test:
Number 6 Suwabara Kai (bandana guy)
Number 11 Azusagawa Tsukino (kawaii girl)
Number 34 Kawachi Kyousuke (our lovely saboteur)
Number 35 Azuma Kazuma (silly boy)
The next test is to make a croissant. Kazuma doesn't know what a croissant is, he thinks the jury meant: Kurowa-san.
